Chicago Crime Tours attended last night's 79th anniversary event commemorating the life and times of John Dillinger. A small crowd gathered at the Lincoln Station Bar and Grill across the street from the Biograph Theatre and the alley where Dillinger died. Participants enjoyed John Dillinger documentaries and learning more about his life and legacy. Shirts and mementos were available for sale, including the Society of John Dillinger Membership cards. We also learned that there is a John Dillinger Youth Foundation that uses its proceeds to help teens stay out of gangs. The evening concluded with a former professional Miami Dolphin football player playing the bagpipes following the final footsteps of John Dillinger.
